A component library extension that brings responsible AI interaction patterns to the federal design system.
The U.S. Web Design System ships 47 components that power hundreds of federal websites, yet it has zero AI-specific patterns.
At the same time, federal agencies doubled their AI adoption between 2023 and 2025. The GSA launched USAi. OMB issued guidance mandating that agencies disclose AI use to the public. The gap between what USWDS offers and what agencies actually need has never been wider, and this conceptual project aims to fill that gap.
